Catapult Healthcare Solutions – Company Profile

in Travel Nursing Blog, Travel Nursing Companies and Agencies/by Kyle Schmidt

Headquartered in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, Catapult Healthcare Solutions is a rapidly growing national healthcare staffing agency that provides workforce solutions for clinical professionals including travel nurses, allied health, and other non-clinical healthcare professionals. In the past couple of years, Catapult has been recognized for multiple awards including 2022 Staffing Industry Analysts #1 Fastest Growing Staffing Firms, 2022 and 2023 Modern Healthcare’s Best Places to Work, 2022 Dallas Morning News Top 100 Places to Work, and 2022 The Texas Association of Business – #3 Overall Best Companies to Work for In Texas.  In this article, we’ll provide a detailed background on the company so travel healthcare professionals can see why they should consider Catapult Healthcare for their next assignment.

Catapult Healthcare Solutions is a subsidiary of Catapult Solutions Group. Prior to Catapult’s formation in 2013, each of the three co-founders had amassed years of industry experience working for one of the largest staffing companies in the United States but sought to establish their own staffing agency built with the same guiding expectations and principles they were trained within yet more family centric and culture conscience.

In their early beginnings, the organization focused on staffing professions they were deeply experienced with including IT, Skilled Trades, Professional Services and Engineering, and adopted traditional networking methods to gain a genuine understanding of their clients and candidates desires and needs.  Their unwavering commitment to excellence and traditional fundamentals earned them referrals which both scaled their growth, allowing the organization with opportunity and familiarity with the healthcare staffing industry. Upon engaging in extensive discussions with healthcare employers and clinicians, the team became convinced that healthcare staffing was a niche that could greatly benefit from Catapult’s direction and approach.

However, the founders soon discovered that healthcare staffing presented its own unique set of complexity and challenges different from other staffing verticals.  As a result, Catapult made the decision to assemble a leadership team that shared the company’s commitment to providing servant minded relationships, solutions-oriented results, and positive clinical outcomes to the healthcare industry and the patients they serve.

Shannon Kanakaole was Catapult Healthcare Solutions first hire for their dedicated healthcare staffing team. As a recent graduate of TCU and entering the corporate workforce, Shannon received comprehensive training and learned the industry from the ground up while quickly winning over his clinicians and clients with amazing service.  Catapult then brought in Joseph “Jody” Turner, a veteran healthcare staffing industry executive with nearly 20 years of experience in both developing culture, organizational and operational structure, sales and recruitment divisions, and growth strategy.  With his optimistic and positive nature, a player’s coach mentality, and strategic direction and initiative, both Joseph and Shannon set course to restructure the existing business model which was focused previously on locum tenens staffing and begin to grow the foundation of a nursing / allied health staffing agency.

Catapult Healthcare is not only a people enable healthcare staffing technology company, but prides itself as a family-oriented culture organization when it comes to both their internal and external employees and staff.  This approach has proven to be beneficial during times of challenge that exists in growing an organization in a highly competitive marketplace, in daily operations towards coordinating the right fit and placements, supporting mental health awareness and other philanthropic initiatives, and especially took center stage during the COVID-19 pandemic.

As a result, the success of Catapult Healthcare Solutions can be attributed to their ability to execute their vision, which has allowed them to make significant strides as a newly recognized company in the healthcare staffing space.  Over the past few years, they have made substantial investments in both their recruitment technology and platforms while maintaining their fundamental cornerstones and unwavering commitment to people care.  Such example include upgrades to their state-of-the-art Applicant Tracking System, a candidate engagement platform  which facilitates more effective, efficient and prompt communication with their clinicians, survey and review platforms which have garnered an impressive average score of 4.82 out of 5 stars, a user-friendly referral technology platform and bonus structure, and a partnership with a digital media company based in Dallas that allow for maximum social media reach, including the recent launch of their podcast channel to both educate and provide subject matter consulting to their clinicians and stakeholders while highlighting industry challenges and solutions along with their vendor partners. Catapult Healthcare has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Health Care Staffing Services Certification by demonstrating continuous compliance with its performance standards. The Gold Seal is a symbol of quality that reflects a health care organization’s commitment to providing safe and quality patient care.

In addition to technology enhancements, Catapult last year underwent a complete marketing and rebranding initiative.  Catapult takes pride in working with local and regional vendors, and closely partnered with a DFW based advertising firm to accomplish this project, unveiling a fresher and more modern logo, new color schemes and various design elements that position the organization towards the future.  As such, the organization was excited to unveil their new tagline, “A Hire Standard”, which they believe captures their essence and represents their aspirations towards performance and results.

From all accounts, Catapult Healthcare Solutions is poised to continue to advance both the delivery of health care and people care across the United States.  Be sure to touch base and review them as one of your healthcare staffing agencies for your next travel assignment!
